The hotel is a one-minute walk from the Hospices de Beaune, known as “The Masterpiece of Burgundy” for its architecture as well as the home of the world-famous annual wine auction. From the dormer windows on the third floor of 1896, guests can look out over the glazed, colored, Burgundy-tiled roofs of the ancient walled town.
A mere two-minute walk in the opposite direction will take you to the Joseph Drouhin Oenothèque to experience one of the best wine-tasting experiences in all of Burgundy. Tour the ancient Drouhin wine cave and century-old pressing room, learn the estate's history and the process of making wine that dates back to the Roman ages, and taste a number of Drouhin wines.
A three-minute walk in the opposite direction will take you to the 13th-century Basilica of Our Lady (La Basilique Notre-Dame de Beaune) which houses a remarkable collection of 15th-century Tournai tapestries. The basilica is a fine example of Clunic, Gothic, and Renaissance architecture.
The ancient city wall or ramparts (remparts in French) are all within walking distance from the hotel. The Tour des Billes, a watchtower dating to the late 14th-century, is less than five minutes away on foot. Other notable parts of the ramparts are the Château de Beaune and Bastion Saint-Anne.
